The Last Jeffersonian

Ronald Reagan's Dreams of America

As you might expect, many, many books on Reagan are available. He also wrote quite a lot of material himself. Here is a selection. If the title of the book is a link, click the title to go to the Amazon page for that book.

Books

George P. Schultz, Turmoil and Triumph: My Years as Secretary of State, 1993.

An excellent, detailed account of the Reagan administration's foreign policy, written by the man responsible for forming it. Schultz admires Reagan, and you can see from the book why Reagan depended on Schultz for good advice.

Ronald Reagan, An American Life, 1990.

Lou Cannon, President Reagan: The Role of a Lifetime, Second Edition, 2000.

Peggy Noonan, When Character Was King, 2001.

Peggy Noonan, What I Saw at the Revolution: A Political Life in the Reagan Era, 1990.
