Top Educational Games in the Market 2017

With a boom in internet technology & coming up of mobile phones, the way ‘Games’ were perceived has changed drastically. In 2002 when the mobile phones made their debut, there was little doubt that they would revolutionize the mobile phone industry. But at the time, few imagined that it would spawn a multi billion-dollar market for mobile applications, and fewer imagined that this market might become a significant one for children.

Internet & Mobile Apps are an important and growing medium for providing educational content to children, both in terms of their availability and popularity. According to a recent survey, Over 80% of the top selling paid apps in the Education category of the iTunes  & Play store Store target children. The percentage of apps for children has risen in every age category, accompanied by a decrease in apps for adults.

Another interesting finding is that early learning websites for toddler/preschool are particularly prominent. General early learning is the most popular subject, and there are significantly more general early learning games than the second most popular subject which is maths.
